As the clock ticks down on the 2021 Senate session, ardent Dems like us are wringing our hands about Joe Manchin's infuriating intransigence re the Biden agenda (which just happens to be supported by the majority of Americans.) Kyrsten Sinema is a problem too, but the word on the street is that she will not be a sole obstructionist should Joe Manchin see the light.
So, how can we take action instead of just worrying (and maybe swearing a bit?)
We have a suggestion to consider... Watch and then help widely share this incredibly clever and persuasive climate action "sing-a-long" video titled "Hey Joe" to the tune of "Hey, Jude." It features a 'Na Na Na Chorus' of almost 50 West Virginiansharmonically urging to Manchin to support the Build Back Better bill to protect his legacy. While BBB is the focus, increased pressure on Manchin, especially from his constituents, will hopefully also help impact passage of the crucial Freedom to Vote Act. If Manchin cares about one thing, it is himself, so a broad-based challenge to his legacy just may affect him. As the Senate session draws to a close, this is the perfect time to pour on the pressure.
