Weekend homework - Increase your impact by voting early!

Hello wonderful IndiMarin Volunteers!

Did you know that a key way that you can help Dems win a trifecta is to fill out your ballot and return it ASAP?!

Voting is already underway in many states with many more starting this week. Here is a
complete listing of early voting options by state. AND, even if voting hasn't started in your state yet, please read on for a tip for how to get prepared this weekend and be all set to go with your ballot as soon as voting starts in your state!

Here's why voting early increases your impact:
As the wonderful Substack author, TikTok poster, and overall grassroots heroine, Jessica Craven, explains in this 3-minute video, voting ASAP is an easy and impactful way to help Dems win for three key reasons:

  1. Once a ballot is received by a county registrar, that voter's name gets pulled off all of the candidates' "Get Out the Vote" lists. This enables the campaigns to not waste time and energy on contacting reliable Dem voters, and, instead, to more efficiently focus volunteer time on turning out the undecided and low-propensity voters. (If you live in a swing district, an extra bonus of early voting is that you will receive fewer, if any, additional door knocks, calls, and texts after your ballot has been received.)

  2. When you vote early, you are being a great role model for friends and family, especially if you mention that you've already voted in conversations with friends, or in a post on social media. This type of social influence is very impactful and helps make the idea of voting contagious. Consider posting, "I've voted!," along with any additional messaging to Facebook or Instagram to help build the all-crucial enthusiasm Dems need to win big.

  3. Voting early will also help with the overall security of the electoral process. Ballots cast early provide election officials with more time, ensure that any snags with registration status can be resolved, and help prevent potential Election Day problems like bad weather, long lines or any Republican interference.

Take the procrastination out of voting with The Blue Voter Guide!

If you have received your ballot by mail already, and have not yet sent it in, this weekend is a great time to carve out some time and get it in the mail. Sometimes procrastination is an obstacle to early voting since it can feel a bit daunting to decide on complex ballot propositions. We recommend BlueVoterGuide.org to make doing your "homework" easier and quicker.

This Dem-centric website is designed to help progressive Democrats sort through the ballot maze and make decisions in line with their overall values. Just enter your zip code and the Blue Voter Guide will generate a sample ballot for you, with a list of groups that have endorsed each Dem candidate and the various ballot measures. It makes voting early a piece of cake!

Please also spread the word about the impact of early voting by emailing
your Democratic friends and family. You can send a personal message, or, consider simply copying and pasting the template at the bottom of this email and blasting it out to your network.

Thanks to all of you for your ongoing volunteering to help Dems win a trifecta, and for voting early!
