We lost California's 13th Congressional District by 564 votes in 2022. We should have won that district in 2022 and we need to win it in 2024 if we are going to win back the House. If we want to win next year, we need to start contacting voters. We cannot parachute in a week or two before the election and expect marginal voters to turn out and vote for Democrats.

So IndiMarin is promoting canvass opportunities in CA-13 sponsored by allied partners, such as Swing Left East Bay. They are canvassing in the crucial northern part of the district that is convenient to volunteers from the Bay Area.

You will get a walking list that includes only likely Democratic voters. So you will be talking to friendly people who want to hear from you. It is very unlikely that you will run across any Republicans at all. We’re telling them about the stakes in the upcoming election, and asking them if they’ll commit to remind three friends to vote. If they agree, you will have them fill out a postcard which you will then store and mail back shortly before Election Day. This approach has been shown to significantly increase a voter’s likelihood of voting and also to increase the likelihood of people in their house or neighborhood voting.
